Ms. Allie
I earned a B.S. in Environmental Management from the University of Redlands and earned my teaching credential from Dominican University of California in San Rafael. Before I became a classroom teacher I spent time working with AmeriCorps teaching students about marine science in Port Townsend, Washington and later worked as a naturalist in the Marin Headlands for a couple seasons while I finished my teaching credential. I’m inspired by nature based and Reggio and nature based preschool programs with a little sprinkling of Waldorf flair and look forward to continuing to build our TK program here. I feel passionate about designing school days that provide ample play time, familiar and predictable rhythms, nature inspired lessons, mindfulness, and developmentally appropriate curriculum. I was lucky enough to land my first teaching job at Harmony 14 years ago in 5th grade and have been teaching with the District ever since! My husband Adam grew up in Occidental and we have two small boys, Mattole (4.5 years) and Kai (2 years old) and live in Sebastopol with our yellow lab and 15 chickens. This year I’ll have the unique role of teacher + mom at the same time since my older son will be joining us in TK! |

In my 13 years of teaching I have had the pleasure of working with many age groups and demographics from Kindergarten- 5th grade. I also spent a year teaching special education and in the last few years really focusing on reading instruction. I use my perspective to help support all my students and set them up for success academically and socially. I have been working at harmony since 2020, last year teaching 3rd grade. I love working at Harmony and learn more each year about what our community and school has to offer. I live in Santa Rosa with my husband Bryan and our two boys. Like Allie, this year I’ll have the unique role of teacher and mom at the same time as my youngest son Isaak will be in TK. My older son Owen has been going to Harmony already and is headed into 1st grade with Miss. Ginn. I am so grateful that my boys get to grow up in Sonoma County like I did and get to be a part of this great community. |
